Memories about the Earth
Did you know that there is a planet between Mars and Venus? That is, there was a planet... Of course, you didn’t, as it existed a very long time ago.
Earth was its name. It was very beautiful – the most colorful of all planets. The most colorful and most controversial. There were so many things happening on it that couldn’t happen anywhere else. If you have never been to Earth, you wouldn’t understand its core and depth, but still, to commemorate this beautiful planet, we have prepared several stories so that you could have a chance to take a glimpse of its beauty.
First things first, we want to apologize for the fact that these memories are not completely accurate. They had been stored in our mind for so long that their contour has become blurry and a bit abstract. But we still hope you can, to some extent, feel the core of this story that we want to share.
The End. Memories about the Earth
This story tells you about... Frankly speaking, it doesn’t tell about anything, this is just the end of story. The end of human history on earth. The last day. Humanity’s time has come to an end, and the World crumbled down to thousand little pieces, dissolved, disappeared. People are leaving the planet, fly far away – to the sky. Moreover – to another universe, because the sky is breaking into pieces. They will start looking for a new home. But what will become of Earth? Will it continue breaking down and disappear for good, or will there be a new era for it, just like for humans?
It is possible that, beyond our crumbling Universe, there has always been someone; someone who is watching over it all. Who is she? Might it be the one who wrote this story, created our World? The Earth, the people… and everything else. And it is only her who knows what comes next.
Fairy tales before sleeping
Human is an alien on Earth. He has most certainly arrived on this planet some time ago, and decided to inhabit this place. He has taken a body from Earth for himself to be able to exist on it: to live, to die, to feel, to interact with other earthlings. Earth has given the human a lot, but he decided to preserve what he has come here with. Inside this terrestrial body, deep inside himself, he stayed the way he always was. He stayed someone who exists on his own terms. Someone who will stay an alien on Earth.
Alternative
This painting is about what could happen if people had not come to Earth long time ago and inhabit it. Would have the planet stayed empty? Probably not. It is so beautiful that some creatures would most definitely have come to live here. Would have they looked like people or like nothing at all? What would have they looked like and lived like? Could the day be a night for them, and the night – a day? In any case, they would have been an alternative to people on Earth.
This painting was created based on my childhood painting with a similar name, created when I was 5. I had amazing mentors in my childhood, so the idea to re-paint my childhood works, made with gouache, using oil paints and canvas, convey the spontaneity of self-expression that all children have and lose as they grow older.
A series of paintings called „Memories of Earth” is dedicated to our beautiful planet that will have vanished at some point in the future. These paintings are momentous frames from memories of it, that is why their contour is blurry and vague, very distantly resembling people who had previously lived on Earth.
